What we do
Window film isn't one product. Heat, glare, privacy, fading and security are different problems with genuinely different films behind them — so it's worth starting from the problem rather than the product name.

Automotive work is the bulk of what comes through our doors, and it's the reason we run an enclosed workshop rather than a van. Dust and temperature during application are what cause bubbling and peeling — so every car is fitted indoors at Bassendean, never kerbside.
Ceramic, carbon and dyed film, always within Western Australia's legal limits: 35% VLT minimum in front of the B pillar, measured through your glass and the film together. Two to four hours for most vehicles.
Car window tintingAlongside the cars, we fit film on homes and buildings across the metro — all of it on site.

Home tinting
Offices, shopfronts, strata and industrial premises. Quoted per square metre after a free site assessment, and fitted after hours where trading can't be interrupted.
Commercial tinting
Privacy that works around the clock, unlike reflective film which reverses after dark. Bathrooms, ensuites, shower screens, meeting rooms and office partitions.
Frosted film
A sacrificial layer for street-facing shopfronts. It takes the tagging, scratching and etching instead of the glass, and replacing the film costs a fraction of replacing a pane.
Anti-graffiti film
Holds broken glass in the frame instead of letting it fall, so a struck pane doesn't become an opening. Homes, shopfronts and premises left empty after hours.
Security filmFull range on the services page.
Cost
Most tinting websites won't put a number anywhere. Here's roughly where things sit, so you can work out whether it's worth a phone call before you make one.
Priced per car rather than per window, because a coupe with curved rear quarters is a different job to a flat-glass ute. Quoted on the phone with your make, model and year.
Typically $1,500–$4,500 for a whole three-bedroom home, though most people treat four to ten problem windows rather than the lot.
Quoted after a free site assessment, itemised by area and film type so work can be staged across budget cycles if needed.
Four things move any quote: how much glass, which film, how accessible it is, and whether old film has to come off first. Ring (08) 9377 0677 and we'll give you a real number.

Why Solarban WA
We've been fitting window film in Perth since 1995, from the same address in Bassendean. Cars, homes and commercial buildings — which means we specify film for a living rather than selling whatever's in the van.

Common questions
Every window forward of the B pillar must let through at least 35% of visible light. Behind the B pillar you can go to 20% VLT, provided the car has compliant external mirrors on both sides. The windscreen can't be filmed apart from a band above the wiper-swept area. Importantly, VLT is measured through the glass and film together — not off the film's packaging — so a "35% film" on already-tinted factory glass can put you under the limit.
Cars take two to four hours at the Bassendean workshop. Most homes are a single day. Commercial work is staged around your trading and can run after hours.
No. Homes, offices and shopfronts are all fitted on site, but cars are always done at our enclosed workshop. Film goes on wet and stays tacky while the adhesive sets, so any dust landing on it becomes a permanent bubble. It's the same reason panel shops don't spray in the open.
Yes. Film reduces the solar energy passing through glass before it becomes heat in the room, which takes load off the air conditioning rather than asking it to catch up. The effect is most noticeable on west and north-facing glass during summer afternoons.
Not if the right film is chosen. Spectrally selective and ceramic films block heat while staying close to clear. Darker privacy films do reduce light noticeably, which is why we bring samples and hold them against your own glass before you decide.
Every installation carries a manufacturer backed lifetime warranty, covering bubbling, peeling and discolouration. The film is warranted by the manufacturer; the workmanship is ours.
